Lesson learned: New Year's Resolutions

In the past two months, I learned something. If you let yourself relax for half a minute, you lose all momentum. Case in point: this blog. I stopped blogging from New York, and then when I returned home I took a couple of days off. Now here I am on January 15th, trying to restart!!

December passed in huge, awkward blur. It was a month full of events that left me reeling and crazy. But it was a good month nonetheless. I fill you in on what you missed from my lack of blogger upkeep over the coming weeks.

Hoping you all had a lovely Christmas and holiday season! Two weeks into January, so I'm hoping your New Year's resolutions are keeping well ;) I searched "New Year's Resolutions" on Pinterest and started checking out different boards people had been creating for inspiration. Conclusion: Everyone wants to lose weight.

Perhaps now is a good time to declare that I have lost 20 pounds since returning home in August. I've followed (loosely) the Dukan Diet, mostly giving up carbohydrates and sugars (including fruit) except for special occasions. And as you know, I've joined a gym  and started working out. My dad and I even ran the Santa 5K in December!

So, here's to all of you who are hoping to lose weight this New Year! My gym has officially gotten crowded, and I'm joined the newbies to try to drop the last few pounds.

Here are a few New Year's Resolutions for you:

1) Read 40 books
2) Move
3) Get a raise of at least $5000 a year
4) Dance
5) Write a book

Pretty lofty goals, aren't they? ;) Hey, sleep when you're dead, right?
