It's a lovely Sunday morning here in Washington, DC, and I'm spending it with some lovely reading. I picked this up at the bookstore yesterday on a whim because no matter how much you know about your own makeup and skincare routine, there's always more out there that you're unaware of. For instance, this morning I learned that moisturizer can actually prevent breakouts. The skin produces oil to lock in hydration and prevent water from leaving the skin; but by consistently using a water-based moisturizer, people with a tendency for oily skin can prevent over production of oil and thus prevent major breakouts. Who knew!
Yesterday was a very special day at my house. Both my younger brother and my dad have a birthday on August 12 (and interestingly enough, so does one of my best friends)! Anyway, we spent the whole afternoon celebrating. We had a lovely dinner out and returned to some of my mother's delicious chocolate cake and presents.
He doesn't look very happy, but don't worry. He was. :)
At least he looks happy in pictures...
The cake and candles.
The candles beasted.
Overall, a lovely evening and a very relaxing weekend. Tomorrow, we're back to work. It'll be my first day as a full-time employee. Having very recently graduated college, this is a big deal people! Entering the full-time real world; and as I have received very little information about tomorrow, I don't really know what to expect. So I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow. Who knows? Maybe I'll have a new adventure to share.
Until then!
