How to throw a Bridal Shower 101. How to pull it together when you're utter newbies for Dummies. My friends and I could write a book by now. With a bridal party of a grand total of four (one of whom is 11, another of whom lives very far away), my friend and I worked hard to get a Bridal Shower together for one of the best Bride friends we could have! Here's how you do it: (items in parentheses are questionable)

1) Meet up at the pool on a stormy day in the rain to discuss all of the accoutrements a good Bridal Shower must have including, but not limited to: Champagne, Orange Juice, Cupcakes, Greek Salad, Games, Centerpieces

2) Make a to-do list, splitting the responsibilities for gathering and cooking down the middle. (Stick to the plan)

3) Arrive at hosting house (neither the Maid of Honor's, nor mine, ironically) (ON TIME?)

4) Cook, scramble, arrange for two hours (have the Bride come late)

5) Sit back and enjoy the celebration. Your best friend's only getting married once!

Graduation, Dancing, Music, and the Beginning and End of June

My computer is back. FIXED. Apple is a genius company; no pun intended. Though I am a little bitter that it just died randomly, apparently from age. It was slightly minted to get it fixed, but it was well-worth not paying the price for a new computer. So I'm satisfied; and I'm back to the blogosphere.

May, June, July. As we've seen so far, these are very busy months. The beginning of Summer is a hot mess of events as everyone squeezes in all the major life events before people head off on their various trips, work, and vacations. Mine have been no different. And if I'm overwhelmed now by how much I need to catch you up on, it's my own fault for not blogging faithfully, in real time.

As the title of this post indicates, the last two weeks have a theme: Graduation, Dancing, Music. My younger sister graduated high school last weekend, which meant much more than just a graduation ceremony. The first weekend of June, she had her Senior recital. That was also the day of my students' own ballet recitals, so I had to be elsewhere. I had one class perform in Thumbelina and one class perform in Alice in Wonderland. It was a long, eventful, and wonderful day!

Last weekend was even more eventful, so brace yourselves. Saturday morning, my sister graduated from high school (woohoo and congratulations!) Unfortunately, once again I had to be the studio's recitals working (though I didn't have any students performing this time around). The recitals were still fun to watch, and it's a great feeling seeing all the dancers' hard work play out on stage! My youngest sister performed in one of the recitals, too!

And on Sunday of last weekend, I managed to make it to some of the Graduation Celebrations finally with my sister's big grad party! Family, old friends, neighbors; it was a great afternoon!

So you would think I took a deep breath this week, right? Think again... more events coming your way soon! (As soon as I wake up from this nap....)

June: Recital and an Absent Computer

Once again, I am posting from work on my lunch hour. Just a quick post to give you a much needed update. It's a week into June, and my computer has died. I've sent it off for repairs, so everyone keep your fingers crossed that it will be back on track by next week. I miss it!! :(

And in case you didn't know what June means in Dance Studio Manager/Dance Teacher language is, allow me to translate. June: adj.referring to a time of recital, related to exhaustion, overwork, tulle, and glitter.

Basically my life right now is a proud one as I watch student after student perform, but it's also a life of stress and lack of sleep. So enjoy previous posts until Monday, if you will. I promise to try to be back in your lives again very soon!
