A Quickie in New York

No, that title doesn't accurately describe my weekend. ;) BUT I did head up to the Big Apple for a little R&R last weekend and had a blast. A truly action packed weekend, I arrived in the city around noon and immediately met one friend for lunch.
After a delicious meal at an Afghani restaurant, I walked over to the pub (my old local) to meet another friend for a drink.
We weren't sitting on the same side...

However, what started as one drink quickly turned into several when we realized that we hadn't seen each other for months and had tons to talk about. I was supposed to head up to another friend's apartment to drop off my bag before our night on the town. But the Irish brews were too good to pass up, so after a few hours, I walked over to meet my other friends for dinner, and thus condemned myself to carry my bag for the rest of the night.

The Girls

The five of us enjoyed a delicious meal in Midtown East, where I enjoyed beer while my fancy Manhattanite girls enjoyed their drinks. After dinner, we walked up to an old favorite from our college days. We ended up camping out there for the rest of the night....

Ran into some of my lovely dancin' ladies!

In the morning (after a few hours of lounging in bed reviewing the night), I dragged myself downtown to meet my last friend for an Irish breakfast (I couldn't get enough of the Irishness this weekend)! After a delicious meal (and no pictures, I'm afraid), we walked across town where I caught my bus and headed back to reality. It was a fabulous and well-deserved weekend... can't wait for the repeat!
